About Us

The International Youth Conference on Terrorism held at New Delhi, in the presence of the UN observer, Mr Feodor Starcevic, unanimously decided to establish the "World Youth Council Against Terrorism" (WYCAT) as part of the New Delhi Declaration to continue the fight against terrorism in an organized manner. Ms Virginia Mullin, expert from USA proposed the name of Mr. G Kishan Reddy, National President, BJYM, India as the Chairman of the World Youth Council Against Terrorism. The proposal was unanimously supported and accepted by the delegates present. WYCAT is a non-political, non-profit confederation of youth organizations and individuals all over the world. WYCAT would carry forward the battle against terrorism both in the ideological plane and in the practical plane. In the ideological plane, programmes like seminars, conferences, workshops and policy response meetings would be arranged. In the practical plane, educational and awareness programmes would be conducted. It is also proposed to establish a fund for rehabilitation of victims of terrorism. Detailed action plans are being chalked out for the Council.

The proposed draft constitution of WYCAT was circulated among all the delegates and feed back in the prescribed forms was received from some of the delegates. The organization would commence its operations soon after taking into consideration the suggestions proposed. Copy of draft constitution of the Council will be sent to the delegates and others concerned for wider circulation among all similar minded organizations and individuals. It was requested that the circulation of the constitution should be widely made to encourage youth organizations and individuals in your respective regions, states or nations to become members of the organization. We are proposing to constitute the Steering Committee and you can suggest names of active individuals from youth organizations to be part of the Steering Committee. We also welcome suggestions regarding the content and looks of the web site that would be started for WYCAT. You can also suggest a suitable logo for the organization.

We are happy and grateful to you for your keen interest in WYCAT and we would like to make this organization the nerve centre for youth of the world in the fight against terrorism. We wish that the organization should take up action oriented agenda and active participation from your side in your region would provide a big boost for the activities.

We expect full cooperation from your side in terms of your own participation and also by way of encouraging other youth organizations and individuals in taking active part in the affairs of WYCAT.
